Three Ways to Print Your Battle Maps

Gamer Printshop is your exclusive Battle Map printshop for every game master of every genre. We offer three ways to print your custom Battle Maps - small format color cardstock printing, large format color printing and large format B/W printing. Each way has its pros and cons.

Small Format Full Color Cardstock Printing:
Since many commercial Battle Map designs come as a multi-page PDF file preset at letter size (8.5" x 11"), the easiest method is to print individual letter sized sheets using our color laser printer. This is the most cost-effective solution for printing full color maps.

Unique to Gamer-Printshop, our small format full color maps are printed to 90# index cardstock giving you a more substantial product than what is offered by most copy shops. Color copiers are generally limited to 67# cardstock which is a very cheap cardstock media, barely thicker than paper. While 90# cardstock is standard for most business cards - this is what we use.

Pros: Small format maps are easier to store and transport, they offer the best prices for full color printing, they are the least expensive to ship, and when laminated offers a very permanent product. Game masters only have to place the battlemaps which currently being explored, you don't have to show the entire map.

Cons: Small format maps are in small format - you have to assemble them to form the complete map. If a sheet becomes missing your map is incomplete.

Large Format Full Color Printing:
The ideal format, at least in the eyes of most game masters is a complete and full sized map in full, glorious color! Its certainly most impressive to view a map in large format sizes - 18" x 24", 24" x 36" and 36" x 48". All large format maps are printed using a 600 dpi color inkjet printer.

Pros: Large format color maps are the most impressive way to print your map. All your stunning details are visible and the scale is right for your miniatures.

Cons: Printing large format maps in full color is the most expensive method for Gamer-Printshop to create your custom designed maps. Also large format means its more expensive to ship, as well as more difficult for you to carry from home to gaming locations, unless you carry a mailing tube.

Large Format B/W Printing:
In some ways this is both the least exciting and the most practical way for Gamer Printshop to create your custom Battle Maps. Using the same unit we use to print blueprint sized building plans and engineering documents for architects and engineers - a toner based large format digital laser printer/copier.

Pros: Large Format B/W allows full size prints of your custom battle maps, just missing all that spectacular color graphics. At $ .50 per square foot, this is the least expensive method to print any large format map.

Cons: Its in B/W not color. Unless folded, B/W maps must be shipped and carried in a mailing tube.

No matter which way you choose, Gamer Printshop offers you the most solutions for printing your custom Battle Map designs. We exist to make your gaming experience more fun!
